Wonderful location to explore old part of Bergen. Hotel had great character and staff very helpful and friendly. Shame about the weather!
The style of this hotel is as that name "Hanseatiske". The building is the office of the Hanse Merchent. It's old but comfortable. You can feel the life of Old Belgen.
Small, laid-back hotel in a cool historical building. Neat, stylish design in the rooms did not overpower, but actually enhanced some of the more historical elements. The service was friendly and they were helpful to me with looking up some transportation options, etc. The location is extremely central, literally steps away from the fish market, Floibanen, and Bryggen. I stayed twice on either side of a trip north. The first time I booked a deluxe room, and the second a standard room. If you are able to afford the extra cost, the deluxe room was much nicer in terms of location in the building and size. I was impressed by the cleanliness of both rooms I had, particularly in the deluxe room, the bathroom was gorgeous and spotless.
Room was very nice and absolutely clean! Staff excellent - they even organised and printed my Boarding pass for the return flight. Location great - directly in the city Center. Only 1 Minute walk to the nice bars at the Harbour. Breakfast very good. Really nothing to complain.
Sorry - all was really good!
The atmosphere, and the location were both fantastic
Very nice and kozy romantic Hotel with a fantastic historic old building that has been given a totally makeover with updated standard...absolutely marvellous.
I recommend to install Queen size bed - with a seemless top madras.
It was intimate, had an "old world" feel and yet was modern in its facilities, with wonderfully designed bathroom. The food was very good, and the staff at front desk and in restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding.
Nothing, really, although for Americans the cost of everything in Norway is a shock. This is O.K., however, as for years things were the reverse!
The Hotel is just beautiful and worth the money, the rooms are very comfortable and relaxing.
Det Hanseatiske was a terrific hotel base for exploring around the Bryggen area of Bergen. Our room was spacious and spotless and the several young staff, over the couple of days, were always cheery and helpful especially with local knowledge. The breakfast included offered many scrumptious choices and dinner in their restaurant was also great.
The service was great, young friendly staff, great food. The old building is fantastic and is an ideal location for Bergen. It is a great hotel, we will be back.
unique traditional wooden hanseatic building with all comfort and services.
Beautiful, quiet room in a fascinating ancient building fitted with a huge, modern bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The location was perfect; right on the waterfront and in the same building as the Hanseatic Museum. We loved it.
foam toppers on beds make them VERY comfortable
no aircon so on rare warm days it was too hot to sleep. street noise was noticeable at night but not horrible
No air conditioning. Once again the cop-out that it is not required very often in Norway. Well it was certainly required for the 2 night I was there and went sleepless due to hot room and very loud noise from revelers under the window and the whole vicinity. For the price charged air-con is expected. Barely rates a 3 star rating at best.
Very good food at the restaurat Historic charm in very best location
